Community Garden Project
A group of citizens joined together to create a community garden. This project is the brainchild of Julia Rollins and Evelynn Powell, members in the Kinston Church. The purpose of the garden is to help the people of the community feed themselves. Those who work in the garden will reap the rewards of fresh vegetables.

On May 16, 2009 the community was honored to have O. A. "Buddy" Ritch, Jr., mayor of Kinston; Will Oosthuizen, pastor of the Kinston Seventh-day Adventist Church; as well as other guests attended the dedication and ribbon cutting for this special garden. Mayor Ritch asked the leaders to keep him informed about the garden. James Fuller and Rudolph Pryor were presented plaques and thanked by Julia Rollins for their "faithful service to the Community Garden Project."
The united group are enthused and excited about the future prospects of the community and are looking for other ways to help improve the community. With God's blessings and the efforts of the people in the community the garden will be a bountiful success.
